Compensation
In their FIRST summer, the following is provided to scholars:
- $4,400 stipend for their internship and pre-program activities
- $300 discretionary funds for personal expenses related to the program (attire, supplies, etc.)
- $1,000 food stipend or allowance to help cover the cost of meals
- Housing expenses are covered by the program
- Professional development and academic seminars
- Travel:
- Travel to and from New Haven covered
- Costs of field trips covered
- Mid-summer retreat costs are covered
- Select research expenses (this may include travel to research-related conferences and field site visits)
- Support for some mentor-related expenses
In their SECOND summer, the following is provided to scholars:
- $4,400* stipend for their internship and pre-program activities
- *Second year students selected to be peer mentors will receive an additional $750.
- $300 discretionary fund for personal expenses related to the program (attire, supplies, etc.)
- $1,000 food stipend or allowance to help cover the cost of meals
- Housing expenses are covered by the program
- Workshops on how to navigate the Graduate School process
- Professional development workshops
- Travel:
- Travel to and from New Haven covered
- Costs of field trips covered
- Mid-summer retreat costs are covered
- Travel, housing, and entry fees for the Second-Year Capstone Retreat .
- Professional development support (this may include travel to conferences and field site visits)
- Support for some mentor-related expenses
